Supporting People with Eating Disorders

Natasha Jeremiejczyk is a provisional psychologist, counsellor and Education Officer for the Eating Disorders Foundation of Victoria (EDFV) where she also volunteers on the helpline and convenes support groups. Natasha’s background in marketing within the health and beauty industry gives her particular insight into the media’s influence – a recognised contributor to body dissatisfaction and risk for eating disorders.

This seminar will provide a brief introduction to eating disorders and how to support those around us who may be experiencing them. It aims to:
•  dispel some of the myths around eating disorders, such as “it’s a lifestyle choice” and “it’s a young woman’s illness”
•  help you gain a better understanding of the warning signs, risks, and causes of eating disorders
•  increase confidence in those supporting people with eating disorders

This seminar is for those who are working with or care about people experiencing disordered eating, as well as anyone interested in developing their knowledge and understanding of eating disorders.
