WIRE’s information seminars are free, regular events offering a diverse platform of experiences from presenters with niche expertise.
Format, frequency and delivery:
Each seminar usually begins with an introduction from a WIRE facilitator, which is then followed by either an interview Q&A, panel discussion or webinar. A range of topics are covered—from family violence to navigating the legal system—and at the end there’s always an opportunity for attendees to post questions for the guest speaker.
During the seminar, we encourage attendees to post questions in the Zoom chat—the WIRE facilitator will get through as many as the time limit allows. A follow up WIRE survey to all attendees also provides an opportunity for further feedback and suggestions for future information seminars.
As we are in a COVID-world, we’ve adopted these seminars to be delivered online only (via Zoom) for now, occurring every couple of months for 1-1.5 hours.
We record and edit the seminars and upload them to WIRE’s YouTube and website, so you can watch it later if you’re not able to attend.
